Pencil and Paper

During my fourth year retreat experience, I have to say that I have learned a lot of things, but I’m not here to get you learned about whatever I have learned but to share to you a few things that I personally could be compared to.

We had this session during our High School Retreat where we had to draw any symbol that would suit and describe us best, and the chosen drawing of mine was just a simple piece of paper, which other people might refer to as junk, for which I refer as something very important. I also added a pencil to the symbol, which is used to write on the paper.

I explain the drawing in a sense that, that piece of paper, represents me, actually, it represents all of us. It’s a empty blank page, and we are the ones who decide what will be written on it, what our story will be like, how it starts, how it processes and how it ends, it’s not your friends’ decision, but our own, we have the authority to write on it whatever we like and we’ve got no one else but ourselves to blame for failures and misfortune led by whatever path we chose.

The pencil on the other hand pretty much explains my personality, being someone who is unable to express oneself verbally, but rather opts to take down my feelings and express myself via textual means, like writing poems, sonnets and their likes. It has been my hobby ever since I felt heartache and despair. But that is another story.
