If you have a blog or publish any content on the internet, it is important to have Google authorship. When you do this, Google results that show your posts will display your picture and a meta description. This may seem like a very minor benefit but it can have a huge impact on your readers. The picture draws the attention of anyone who is searching. Some studies have even shown that the basic Google authorship picture increases blog views by up to 150 percent.

Follow these few simple steps to set up your Google authorship and start the see the benefits and traffic from search engine optimisation.

Verify Your Email Account on Google Plus

First, you have to have a Google Plus profile. If you don’t have one, you will need to sign up. Take the time to make your profile look good and speak to who you are as a blogger. Those who take the time to read it will gain a greater respect for you and will more likely become loyal followers. After you have set up the account, go to your personal profile and click on the section titled “About.” Check to make sure that there is a check mark next to the option of adding your email address.

If the domain name of your email address matches the domain name of your blog, there is a chance that there is nothing else for you to do to gain Google authorship. However, it is safer to follow the rest of the steps just in case. They aren’t hard to do, and they will make a big difference.

List Your Publications

The average Google Plus user normally skips over this field. But if you are a blogger who wants more viewers, it is essential that you fill this out. There is a section in your Google Plus profile that you can use to list all the publications you write for, including your blog. In this section, you can link to your blog’s profile page and any other blog posts that you have contributed to that you may not necessarily own. If you do this second option, it is good protocol to check with the blog owner to make sure it is alright with them.

Link from the Blog to Your Google Plus Profile

This is the vital step if your email domain does not match your blog domain name. Somewhere in the blog, usually in the byline or the “About Me” section of the author profile, you will need to put a “rel=author” link to the blog. Add this formula to your biography or byline:

<a id=”" href=”https://plus.google.com/[USER" rel="author">Your name</a>

To find your Google Plus ID number, go to your Google Plus profile. The URL at the top will have a string of numbers attached to the end. This is your ID number. Once this final piece is plugged in, you will have Google authorship built into your blog profile.

Snippet of a Google+ Profile

These steps may take all of five minutes to complete, assuming you already have a Google Plus profile. However, it will make a big difference in how many readers are directed to your blog.

Eating a diet high in healthy super foods will improve eye health, minimise age-related eye
degeneration and help reduce the risk of serious eye diseases. Without proper eye care, your body
will suffer. We see with our eyes, we communicate with our eyes, we can even seem to say a
sentence with our eyes. We are humans and we have five major senses. The eyes are one of the
senses that we must look after with the utmost care. This can easily be achieved if we follow a diet
of super healthy eye foods full of nutrients.

Super Foods for Healthy Eyes

Nuts

Nuts are the ultimate super food as they benefit all parts of the body. They are an excellent source of
vitamin E, which helps prevent cataracts and protects the eyes from free radical damage. Eat
handfuls of almonds, hazelnuts and sunflower seeds or make a mix and sprinkle on cereal, in salads
or add to yoghurt.

Fish

The best fish for healthy eyes is the wild caught variety, such as salmon. Salmon contains two types
of omega 3 fatty acids. Both of these fatty acids will help prevent or slow down eye disease. Dry eye
syndrome has been attributed to a lack of omega 3 fatty acids. Tuna and sardines are valuable
sources of omega 3 fatty acids as well.

Kale

This super vege may be hard to find but a suitable substitute is spinach. These two green dynamos
are overflowing with lutein and zeaxanthin, two of the strongest antioxidants that protect against
cataracts, retinal damage and macular degeneration. There are many recipes where you can include
kale or spinach.

Beans

Mung beans, kidney beans, lentils, in fact any form of bean is packed with zinc. Eat the fresh variety
or from a can, and you will get the same benefit. Zinc is vital to maintain healthy eyes. Zinc helps
draw Vitamin A from the liver to the retina, thereby helping with night vision, prevention of
cataracts and helps in producing melanin which is found in the tissue underlying the iris of the eye.

Oranges

Orange and red fruits are loaded with the rich Vitamin C. This vitamin helps reduce the risk of
cataracts and supports the blood vessels in the eye. Make oranges, peaches and strawberries a part
of your daily diet and adding tomatoes and red capsicums to meals will not only add a splash of
colour, but will give you the much needed vitamin C as well.
Healthy clear sparkly eyes improve your external appearance. Eye care should begin at a young age
with regular check-ups with a paediatrician and then later in life with your doctor or eye health
professional. Have a look at the Dry Eye Website for ideas on
how to improve your eye health. The old saying ‘eyes are the window to the soul’ is absolutely true.
A simple eye examination may reveal previously unknown medical afflictions. Good vision is essential
for sport, learning, driving and many other day to day life activities. Feed your eyes a healthy diet
and you can look forward to a healthy lifestyle.

It can be hard to make money as a college student. You have little work experience, not a lot of free time outside of your studies and it may be difficult to find transportation to work. However, there are ways for students in college to make money.

Start A Website

The easiest way to make some extra money is to start your own website. Through your website, you have several different options when it comes to earning money. You can decide to sell goods, take bookings for your band or start a blog that will attract advertising revenue. Creating a website now allow you to get a head start on something that may become an extra source of revenue throughout your adult life.

Get A Job At School

Many colleges will allow you to work on campus to earn some extra money. Some schools may award you a job as part of your financial aid package. This will provide you with a job that works around your class schedule and is easy to get to. Aside from helping you make money, you may also make a few new friends as well. Some common places for students to find work at school include the library, cafeteria or in the dorms.

Become A Tutor

If you are getting good grades, you should apply to be a tutor either at your school, online or arrange to be a private tutor for students who need your help. Most tutors get paid by the hour and only have to be available for a few hours a week. Those who enjoy teaching may be able to put their tutoring experience on their resume. College students who want to become an online tutor can do so from anywhere if they have access to a network in the cloud.

Sell Your Used Textbooks

Just because the college bookstore won’t pay you much for your used textbooks doesn’t mean that other students won’t be willing to. Selling your used textbooks allows you to clear out space in your dorm room while making money at the same time. If you are going to sell your textbooks, make sure to not forget any DVDs, reference materials or any other
extras that they may have came with.

Easy Money Making Tips for Students

Having little or no money is a fact of life for college students. However, this doesn’t mean that it is impossible to make some extra cash to help you survive while you are in school. Selling used textbooks, creating a new website or tutoring fellow students are all easy ways to ensure that you always have cash in your pocket.

Among the things you need to bring to college are ear plugs, USB thumb drives (more than 1), beer and wine bottle openers, flip-flops, duct tape (don’t ask), and dedicated ethernet services. Spoiler alert: all 1st-year college students, did anyone explain to you that your school has probably installed major limits on the bandwidth available?

Among the things that no one is telling you is that your campus IT folks have tightened the noose on the number of internet connections you can have. What’s a hipster – with laptop, tablet, and smart phone – to do?

Campus IT execs are saying that they just cannot assure campus-wide web strength and security – and still allow you four or more devices and assorted smart gadgets. It’s not like they are keeping you from connecting with your library, but, for those of you who want to spend your hours streaming Netflix, Pandora, live news and sports, and more, you may have a problem.

When every student in your lecture hall is taking notes on a tablet – and half of them are on their phones at the same time – bandwidth is burning. If your campus is in a rural location, that means a bigger problem. Different schools handle the tracking and billing in different ways, but most students protest or find a way around the limits.

Diverse residential network solutions have been wrestling with the problem for years and may be treading water as demand surges past them. Dartmouth, SUNY Oswego, Emerson, and Pacific Union College are among the schools committing to dedicated ethernet services. (Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, CA boasts 4 ports per resident.)

Scalability: The system must enable increased speed allowing well in excess of 500 Mbps -with scalable growth to 10 gigabytes.

Savings: With no lag time, employees – as well as students – increase their productivity. Able to increase bandwidth as needed, IT operation costs are harnessed.

Security: There is no system more secure than dedicated ethernet services.

Curricula: Enhanced security and reliability improve the faculty-student interactivity and resources.

Additional benefits – not something first year students think much about include:

Distance learning solutions are important as learning options multiply and diversity for accelerated and continued learning.

Support services, such as reading and writing labs and tutoring support, are quickly accessible and sustainable.

Multi-campus integration allows communication among severally located campuses. (Widener University is even able to connect with its satellite programs at a local middle school.)

School administrative functions, like the registrar, counseling, and finance, all interface cleanly and confidentially.

Of course, the really outstanding question here is whether or not dedicated ethernet services support your quality of life. When you need a rest from Latin roots or Beowulf in translation, from botany or chemistry vocabulary, from even a tangential interest in geometry, yes, you can still play games, text ad nausea, chat, surf, or download to your heart’s content. You can shop or surf without loss of security. You can bank, craigslist, or Skype. In short, when you can’t face your books any more, Facebook.

Acne is a problem that affects approximately 85 percent of teenagers. The hormonal changes that occur during the adolescent years are one of the many things that can cause a person to develop acne. There are treatments that can be prescribed by dermatologists, but they are also expensive and come with the risk of side effects.

The good news is that there are a number of home remedies available for acne treatment. Below are some of the ways that you can treat acne naturally:

Teenage Acne Skin Care

Aloe Vera Gel

Aloe Vera gel is known for its healing properties. It is commonly used to treat skin abrasions and sunburn, but it can also help treat acne. Aloe Vera gel can reduce the redness and inflammation that acne causes. However, you should make sure that you purchase 100 percent pure Aloe Vera gel.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar has antibacterial properties. Therefore, it can potentially help get rid of the bacteria that causes acne. You should mix apple cider vinegar with water. The mixture should be made up of 60 percent water and 40 percent apple cider vinegar. You should apply the mixture directly to your skin. Make sure that you rinse your skin thoroughly when you are finished.

Garlic

Garlic is often referred to as nature’s antibiotic. It cannot only treat acne, but it can also treat the scars that are left behind by acne. You should rub some raw garlic on your skin several times a day. Garlic has a very strong smell, so you want to make sure that you rinse your skin off thoroughly.

Cucumber

Cucumbers are an excellent source of vitamins A and C. Both of these nutrients are essential for skin health. You should grind the cucumber up, make a paste and apply it to the affected areas on your skin. You should let the cucumber set for 30 to 45 minutes and then rinse it off thoroughly.

Zinc Supplements

Zinc is a mineral found in oysters, peanuts, crabs, dark chocolate and dried watermelon seeds. Studies have shown that people who have low levels of zinc are more likely to develop acne. Researchers have also found that zinc can be very effective for treating acne. In fact, some studies suggest that zinc may be more effective for treating acne than antibiotics. That is why zinc supplements are recommended by naturopathic physicians.

You can treat acne without spending money on expensive medications. Aloe vera gel, apple cider vinegar, garlic, cucumbers and zinc supplements are just a few of the many home remedies that have been shown to help get rid of acne.

As of this writing, I’m currently constructing a post at Pinoy Teens about how to keep your WordPress blog safe from hackers. This post is one of the references to be cited in the main article.

The best way to check whether your theme contains malicious base64 code is by using the plugin called Theme Authenticity Checker (TAC) which checks not only for malicious base64 code that may cause the spread of malware and allow hackers to exploit your website but also checks on all the links present in the theme for you to see whether there are some hidden links present that you did not know of.

It’s free to all of you and should work perfectly with the most recent WordPress update.

How to Use Theme Authenticity Checker

It’s very easy to use the TAC WordPress plugin to check for malicious base64 code and spam links. All you have to do is…

Upload
tac.php
to the
/wp-content/plugins/
directory

Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress

Go to Appearance -> TAC in the WordPress Admin

The results of the scan will be displayed for each theme with the filename and line number of any threats.

You can click on the path to the theme file to edit in the WordPress Theme Editor

What are you waiting for? Download the The Authenticity Checker plugin now. (You may also search and download this plugin from inside your self-hosted WordPress blog)

For those needing good quality hosting, fret no more – go with the host that I’ve been using for over 3 years now which is Eleven2.
