WordCamp Davao 2009 knocks on the door

WordCamp Davao 2009 is knocking on the door again, for the second year ever, after its South East Asian debut in 2008. WordCamp is arguably the number one blogging event to attend world wide. Organized by group of bloggers in a certain country/area. The historic event in the Philippines was hosted by the DLSCSB Community in their campus, in Manila. It was the first ever South East Asian WordCamp at was attended by Mister WordCamp himself, Matt Mullenweg.

This years WordCamp looks to be tremendously awesome, too bad that I can’t attend the main event in Manila; hey and it”ll be awesome despite the fact that Matt Mullenweg won’t be around. More excitement, more interaction and probably more people to meet since WordPress has become one very established blogging software and solution in the Philippines.

And it’s so popular in Davao City that Davao will be having its own teaser of a WordCamp, the WordCamp Davao 2009. I’m happy to be part of the volunteering staff of WordCamp Davao 2009 this year, (more information like venue, date, registration, here) the last years’ event was actually the first ever blogging event I’ve been to, which opened up new possibilities and connections for me, meeting the likes of the Dabawegnu People, Lyle Santos, Charles Ortiz, to name a few.

Make sure you won’t miss WordCamp Davao 2009, Dabawenyos!

If you are from Davao and are curious about the ongoing blogging craze, or if you are already a blogger blogging on WordPress, then this is the event for you. The time to meet other bloggers around the Davao City Community and to share experiences with the WordPress Software and blogging in general, and hey, it’s a good time to simply have a good time and hang out with people you might have some interests in common.

Of course, the event is not only open to WordPress bloggers, even bloggers of other platforms like Friendster Blogs (they are actually using WordPress MU), Live Journal, Blog Spot and the others are welcome to attend and meet bloggers in the community. It is a great opportunity to have a peek at what WordPress can offer you that could help you excel in your blogging and see if it meets your requirements to be named something awesome or number one.

See you there, at WordCamp Davao 2009!

ps: I and two fellow WordPress experienced users will present a demo on how to get started with WordPress after the main dishes of talks.
